Do Now: You are walking on this beach. What do you hear, smell, see, etc. Remember these are images, so be specific.

Today's class focuses on poetry of the Romantic Period.
1. We will be focusing on the importance of Nature during this period of American Literature.
2. We will be analyzing "The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls" in terms of  imagery, alliteration, sound patterns, and personification. These are the same poetic devices we used in yesterday's constructed response question!
3. We will also be analyzing theme and inferences.
Homework: Finish answering the sample PSSA questions from today's class. Study for the vocabulary test on Friday!
