Do Now: Review your prefixes for a test


1. Figurative language - the language of poetry and plays.
These include simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, satire, imagery, foreshadowing, flashbacks, and irony.













2. Literary devices  are the author's tools. They include plot, setting, characterization, theme, mood, point of view, and symbolism.
Homework: Read P. 163 in your textbook. Identify the mood  and point of view of The Soul Selects Her Own Society by Emily dickenson.
