Do Now: Look at the portraits at the front of the room. Select one. THINK ABOUT HIM... Who is he? How do you know him? What kind of work does he do? Is he married with children? What makes him interesting?
You have 15 minutes to create his life in a free-write. Have fun! Use your imagination.
Classwork:  Today's focus is on writing an effective essay.
We always start with the body of an essay.
1. Brainstorm ideas that relate to the topic.
2. Select the three ideas you want to develop. These become the body of your essay.
3. Develop each idea in a separate paragraph and add details or supporting information.
Now, and only now, you are ready to write an introduction.
Homework: Complete the introduction and the body of your character analysis. You must proofread. (100 points)
