Do Now: It's Constructed Response Day! Today's prompt is an actual prompt from the PSSA's.  Strategies:
1. Highlight the important terms in the prompt. Briefly define any terms you will be using. Answering the prompt is your purpose for reading.
2. Be sure to mark the text for examples that you can use to prove your position. Label them in the margins as you read.
3. Re-read the prompt to make sure you have examples that really address what you are being asked to do.
4. Write your answer following the steps we have been using in class.
5. Reread your work. Have you satisfied each step?

Classwork: Preparing for a reading-based dialogue.

1. What's the difference between a dialogue and a debate?
2. Why is it important to learn appropriate dialogue techniques?
3. What are the behaviors you will be expected to use?
4. Why is active listening a requirement?
Homework: Review your vocabulary terms as well as the dialogue techniques handouts. Prepare for a quiz tomorrow.
