These are the guidelines for studying for tomorrow's test:

Test Review:
1. Catalog Poetry - Basic characteristics: parallel structure, list of things with something in common, repetition, clear tone, may rhyme. Review the literature - paying attention to reading questions.
2. The Puritan Era - nonfiction text. Main ideas of historical social, potitical, and religious perspectives. Remember the big four: self-reliance, industriousness, temperance, and simplicity.
3. Bradstreet Poem : inversion, imagery, tone, metaphor, author's purpose, theme: Puritan values
4. Edwards Sermon: Figurative language, repetition, author's purpose, theme, tone
Remember, There will be plenty of "why" questions. You must use evidence from the text to support your answers!
5. Vocabulary: Group 1, 2, and 3
