Do Now: Journal - What do you know about the Puritans? Remember, these are the guys that brought us Thanksgiving. Whatever you know... (5 lines/ 5 minutes)
Classwork: 
1. This week's vocabulary list is a combination of SAT suggestions and your first set of roots and affixes. You are responsible for the meanings and use of both sections.
2. Welcome to the Puritan Era of American Literature!

We begin with informational text that focuses on the historical, political, religious, and social perspectives of this era.

Homework: Two Parts:
1. Finish annotating The Puritan Era: Background on your handout. Answer all reading questions.
2. Use the first group of  SAT words to create a scenario that uses at least 7 of the words correctly. Hint: Choose words that have something in common.
