Do Now: (Journal) Take out "Morning Sounds..." and quickly read it again. Select a sound/image that stands out for you. Write the line and explain why you selected it.
Classwork:
Literary terms review!
1. Tone revisited - definition and examples from the poems.
2. Theme revisited - Remember, themes are universal and have a larger message than the subject of the poem, novel, etc.
3. Author's purpose: Why did the author write this sentence, include this information, use this technique, etc?

"Five Things Fake People Do"another perspective on catalogs.
Analyze the essay in terms of tone, parallel structure, imagery.
Homework: One more time... Look over your reading questions for both poems. Have you included quotes and evidence? Revisit your answers for Whitman!
