We are leaving the Puritans and their religious beliefs and looking at Rationalism and The Age of Reason.
1. Puritans relied on religious faith to live their lives. The Rationalists discover the truth by using their mind and intellect.
2. Puritans believed that man is basically a sinner. Rationalists stressed human goodness. The best form of worship is to do good for others The Autobiography by Benjamin Franklin:
