Classwork: The Puritan Era


Annotate main ideas informational text:
Historical perspective - key ideas that explain the history of the Puritan settlers.
Political perspective - key ideas that explain how government was structured during this time period.
 Religious perspective - key ideas that explain the paradoxical aspect of religious life.
Social perspective - Key ideas that explain daily life and  relationships that permeated this period.
Each of these perspectives combine to allow the reader to understand the values and beliefs that underlie the literature of the Puritan Era.
Homework: Use your margins to paraphrase important information. Summarize each perspective in the space provided  on your handouts.
