Do Now: Are you having problems with your catalog poem? What is difficult? What was easy for you? Are you prepared with a rough draft? If not, why not?
Classwork:
1. Writers' Workshop. You will be working with partners to offer suggestions and critique rough drafts.
        Is there evidence of a consistent tone? Look at word choice and sentence structure. Can you identify the tone?
        Are the items in the list related? Is the last sentence strong?
         How did your partner use parallel structure? Is it obvious?
        Are the images powerful?
        What can you suggest that might improve the poem?
2. Roots and Affixes. 30 - 30 - 30 will make defining new words easier.
Homework: You must be prepared with the final draft of your poem tomorrow. No poem - no laptop!
